Union and Milford
Two blighted and long-abandoned parcels of land in the North Common neighborhood of Lawrence were acquired by Lawrence CommunityWorks. LCW is a nonprofit community development corporation working to transform and revitalize the physical, economic, and social landscape of Lawrence. LCW engaged Boehm Architecture to consider various housing options for the sites.
Funding opportunities and zoning constraints led to the design and development of five single family homes for first time, low income home buyers.
These three-bedroom homes are “net-zero ready” with large, south-oriented roofs and highly efficient envelopes. We worked hard with LCW, Levis Companies (GC) and our funders to create an affordable solution that will serve the neighborhood and community very well.
