Wisconsin Farmhouse
This multi-generational home was designed for a family farm in rural Wisconsin.
The owners had an interest in the local farmhouse vernacular as well as Bauhaus-inspired modernism. The nearby paragon of Wisconsin rural architecture, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin was also a source of inspiration. The design draws upon these influences while fitting its particular site – sloping woodlands overlooking a meandering creek and meadows.
The home is made energy efficient by use of continuous exterior insulation, energy-recovery ventilation, and zoned electric air-source heating, cooling and hot water.
